THAI MASSAGE
Thai massage is a unique form of bodywork. Many recipients often compare it to having yoga done on you. It is a clothed massage done on the floor, utilizing a “futon-like” Thai massage mat.
The recipient may be positioned supine, prone, side-lying and seated. The Thai massage practitioner (me) maneuvers the recipient into yoga-like postures, while utilizing various parts of their body including fingers, hands, forearms, elbows, knees, and feet to perform different techniques throughout the session. These techniques include: acupressure for specific sen(energy) lines - allowing the body’s energy to flow without blockage.
Pressure and compressions are used to stimulate internal organs, relax tense muscles, and calm the nervous system. Passive and facilitated stretching adjusts the skeletal structures, increases flexibility, and helps to restore movement.
Thai massage can affect all layers of self: physical, mental, emotional, energetic, and spiritual. The benefits can range from deep relaxation, increased energy and mobility, an increase in flexibility, alignment and balancing of specific energy lines and chakras, and an overall sense of well-being.
